What is the average price of a paid old age home in Gurgaon?

Most paid old age homes in Gurgaon charge ₹40,000 to ₹1,00,000 a month. Basic homes start lower, while premium assisted living homes start at about ₹84,000 a month on average and can rise to ₹1,50,000 or more with higher care needs. Room type, care level and inclusions decide the final price.

What do 150 family conversations a month teach us about costs?

Three misunderstandings come up most often. Families compare quotes that include different things, they worry that a large deposit is a hidden cost, and they underestimate how much more dementia care costs. A rate card answers none of these, so here is what we tell families.

Two quotes, two prices, same words. For example, a family calls three homes and hears three prices for “assisted living.” Usually, one quote includes everything, while another bills physiotherapy, medicines and attendants on top. As a result, the lower quote often becomes the higher bill within the first month.

The deposit feels like a trap, but it usually isn’t. Many families also feel surprised by a security deposit of ₹3 to ₹4 lakh. In most genuine homes, however, this deposit is refundable and covers emergency costs during the stay. So always ask to see the written refund conditions.

The jump to dementia care catches families off guard. A parent with early memory changes may first receive an assisted living quote. Later, a proper dementia assessment can raise the fee by ₹25,000 to ₹65,000 a month. That increase reflects real costs, because dementia care needs more staff per resident and specialised training.

Why do old age homes in Gurgaon cost more than in other cities?

Gurgaon sits at the higher end of India’s senior care market for three reasons: expensive land and buildings, closeness to major hospitals, and the cost of trained nursing and dementia care staff. As a result, each of these shows up directly in the monthly fee.

• Real estate: land and construction cost more in Gurgaon than in most Indian cities.
• Hospital access: families value homes near hospitals such as Medanta, Fortis and Artemis, because fast emergency access matters.

What changes the price of an old age home in Gurgaon?

Three things decide the final price: room type, level of care, and what the fee includes. For example, a twin sharing room usually costs 25 to 30 percent less than a single room in the same home. In addition, higher care needs, such as dementia care or round the clock nursing, raise the fee further.

Also, spouses or siblings who share a room usually pay less than for two single rooms. Similarly, a parent who needs only general supervision pays less than a parent who needs post operative or dementia care, because each step up needs more staff per resident.

What does the monthly fee include, and what costs extra?

Most good homes in Gurgaon include accommodation, meals, housekeeping, round the clock nursing and caregiver support, medication management and daily activities. However, physiotherapy, medicines, diagnostic tests and a personal attendant usually cost extra. So always ask for a written list of exclusions before comparing two quotes.

Compare what each quote includes, rather than the headline number alone. Then ask every home the same questions about physiotherapy, deposits, care changes, minimum stay and medicines, and get the answers in writing. A home that answers clearly before you ask twice usually bills clearly later too.
